A fool shows his irritation immediately, but a prudent person overlooks an insult.


A clever person conceals his knowledge, but the heart of a fool blurts out folly.


Wisdom rests in the heart of the discerning, and even among fools she is known.


Prudence makes one slow to anger and his glory is to overlook an offense.


Therefore the prudent keep silent at such a time —for it is a distressful time.


Do not trust in a friend. Do not trust in a close companion. Guard the openings of your mouth from her who lies on your breast.
