A fool shows his irritation immediately, but a prudent person overlooks an insult.


A clever person conceals his knowledge, but the heart of a fool blurts out folly.


Wisdom rests in the heart of the discerning, and even among fools she is known.


Prudence makes one slow to anger and his glory is to overlook an offense.


Therefore the prudent keep silent at such a time —for it is a distressful time.


Do not trust in a friend. Do not trust in a close companion. Guard the openings of your mouth from her who lies on your breast.


So he divulged to her all his heart and said to her, “No razor has ever been upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will go from me, and I will be weak and be like any other man.”
