“If a thief found breaking in is struck so that he dies, there is no bloodguilt for him.


If the thief is not found, then the master of the house is to present himself to God, to see whether he has laid his hand on his neighbor’s goods.


He is to bring his trespass ­offering to Adonai, to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting—a ram for a guilt offering.


It is a trespass offering. He is absolutely guilty before Adonai.”


“Command Aaron and his sons, saying: This is the Torah of the burnt offering. The burnt offering shall remain on the hearth atop the altar all night until the morning, while the fire of the altar is kept burning on it.
