“Behold, I am sending My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. Suddenly He will come to His Temple —the Lord whom you seek— and the Messenger of the covenant —the One whom you desire— behold, He is coming,” says Adonai-Tzva’ot.


This is the one about whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send My messenger before You, who will prepare Your way before You.’


John’s immersion, where was it from? From heaven or from men?” They began to dialogue among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’

You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah,’ but rather, ‘I am sent before Him.’


Before His coming, John had proclaimed an immersion of repentance to all the people of Israel.
