For we are sojourners before You, mere transients like our fathers. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, without security.

The wicked is brought down in his calamity yet the righteous has a refuge even in death.
Both go to one place. Both were taken from the dust, and both return to the dust.
Who knows that the spirit of the sons of man ascends upward and the animal’s spirit descends into the earth?
