“Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; for emptiness will be his reward.


For thus says Adonai, the God of Israel: “Do not let your prophets who are among you or your diviners beguile you, and pay no attention to the dreams which you make them keep dreaming.


The arrogance of your heart has deceived you— living in the clefts of the rock—his dwelling place is lofty, saying in his heart: ‘Who shall bring me down to the earth?’


For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he is fooling himself.


Do not be deceived—God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he also shall reap.


Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s judgment comes on the children of disobedience.


Let no one deceive you in any way, for the Day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the one destined to be destroyed.


But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding yourselves.
