The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands.


Those who make them will be like them— so will all who keep trusting in them.


In that day a man will cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which they made to worship, to the moles and to the bats!


Their land also is full of idols. They worship the work of their hands, what their own fingers have made.


You will defile your graven images overlaid with silver, and your metal images covered with gold. You will throw them away like a menstrual cloth. You will say, “Be gone!”


Beaten silver is brought from Tarshish and gold from Uphaz. The work of the craftsman and of the goldsmith’s hands is clothed in blue and purple— all the work of skillful men.


They drank the wine and praised the gods made of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood and stone.
