He turned their hearts to hate His people, to deal shrewdly with His servants.
and said, “When you help the Hebrew women during childbirth, look at the sex. If it’s a son, then kill him, but if it’s a daughter, she may live.”
When she opened it, she saw the child—look, a baby boy crying! She had compassion on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrew children.”
Wrath is cruel and anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?
For they cannot sleep until they do evil. They are robbed of sleep until they make someone fall.
Dealing with our people with cruel cunning, this king mistreated our fathers and forced them to abandon their infants so they would not survive.
