“The man, the lord of the land, spoke with us harshly, and took us as spies of the land.


Then Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down to him with faces to the ground. When Joseph saw his brothers, he recognized them, but he made himself unrecognizable to them. Then he spoke harshly and said to them, “Where have you come from?” “From the land of Canaan,” they said, “to buy grain as food.”


Then Jeroboam and all the people returned to Rehoboam on the third day as the king had said to them saying, “Come back to me on the third day.”


and spoke to them according to the counsel of the young men saying, “I will make your yoke heavy—I will make it even heavier. My father punished you with whips, but I will punish you with scorpions.”


But he disregarded the counsel that the elders had given him and consulted with the young men who grew up with him and served him.


So Pharaoh said to him, “Go away from me! Take heed never to see my face again, because on the day you do, you will die!”


A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.


The poor request favor, but the rich answer harshly.


My son, if you stop heeding instruction, you will stray from words of knowledge.
