When all Israel heard of the verdict that the king had given, they were in awe of the king. For they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.
But Adonai said to my father David: ‘Because it was in your heart to build a House for My Name, you did well that it was in your heart.
Then King David rose to his feet and said, “Listen to me, my brothers and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a resting place for the Ark of the Covenant of Adonai and for the footstool of our God. So I made the preparations for the building.

The wisdom of the prudent is to consider his way, but the folly of fools is deception.
For as he thinks within himself, so is he. “Eat and drink”, he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
While it remained unsold, it was your own, wasn’t it? And after it was sold, wasn’t it at your disposal? How did this deed get into your heart? You haven’t lied to men but to God.”
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword—piercing right through to a separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Who among you is wise and understanding? By his good conduct let him show his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, not hypocritical.
