But Jesus answered him, “Permit it for now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John permitted him.
“Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able to.
“The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone tries to force his way into it.
For at times an angel would go down into the pool and stir up the water. The first person who stepped in after the water was stirred up was healed of whatever disease he had.
Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”
