Then Jesus said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.


In response Jesus said to the lawyers and Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”


And after looking around at them all, he said to the man, “Stretch out yoʋr hand.” The man did so, and his hand was restored, as sound as the other.


But he knew their thoughts and said to the man with the withered hand, “Rise and stand here.” So he rose and stood there.


For the Son of Man did not come to destroy people's lives but to save them.” And they went on to another village.
