Have you not read this Scripture: ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;


With him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on his left.


and he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”


“Brothers, it was necessary for this Scripture to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.


God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,


For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “I have raised yoʋ up for the very purpose of showing my power in yoʋ, so that my name might be declared in all the earth.”


But the Scripture has confined all under sin, so that the promise might be given on the basis of faith in Jesus Christ to those who believe.


Remember, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.”


All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,


You see then that a person is justified by works, and not by faith alone.


For it says in Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and no one who believes in him will ever be put to shame.”
