The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, upon many waters.


A king's wrath is like the growling of a lion, but his favor is like dew upon the grass.


For thus the Lord said to me, As a lion or a young lion growls over his prey, and when a band of shepherds is called forth against him is not terrified by their shouting or daunted at their noise, so the Lord of hosts will come down to fight upon Mount Zion and upon its hill.


The Lord goes forth like a mighty man, like a man of war he stirs up his fury; he cries out, he shouts aloud, he shows himself mighty against his foes.


Their roaring is like a lion, like young lions they roar; they growl and seize their prey, they carry it off, and none can rescue.


“You, therefore, shall prophesy against them all these words, and say to them: ‘The Lord will roar from on high, and from his holy habitation utter his voice; he will roar mightily against his fold, and shout, like those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.


And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard as far as the outer court, like the voice of God Almighty when he speaks.


They shall go after the Lord, he will roar like a lion; yea, he will roar, and his sons shall come trembling from the west;


And the Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shake. But the Lord is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel.


And he said: “The Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the top of Carmel withers.”


The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?”


And I heard a voice from heaven like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder; the voice I heard was like the sound of harpers playing on their harps,


Then I saw another portent in heaven, great and wonderful, seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is ended.


And one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives for ever and ever;


From the throne issue flashes of lightning, and voices and peals of thunder, and before the throne burn seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God;


Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth; and there were peals of thunder, voices, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
