The wicked borrows, and cannot pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives;


He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.


All day long the wicked covets, but the righteous gives and does not hold back.


In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand; for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.


Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you; break off your sins by practicing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, that there may perhaps be a lengthening of your tranquillity.”


and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.


But give for alms those things which are within; and behold, everything is clean for you.


No, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head.”


Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.


For God is not so unjust as to overlook your work and the love which you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.


Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
