And he cried to the Lord, “O Lord my God, hast thou brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?”


Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and supplications with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.


Then he goes and brings with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. So shall it be also with this evil generation.”


As they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men,


And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.”


While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”


And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting, they committed them to the Lord in whom they believed.


Do not refuse one another except perhaps by agreement for a season, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, lest Satan tempt you through lack of self-control.
