Does it seem good to thee to oppress, to despise the work of thy hands and favor the designs of the wicked?


Why dost thou hide thy face, and count me as thy enemy?


Why do you, like God, pursue me? Why are you not satisfied with my flesh?


Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No; he would give heed to me.


Then Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became angry. He was angry at Job because he justified himself rather than God;


that it would please God to crush me, that he would let loose his hand and cut me off!


Thou hast a mighty arm; strong is thy hand, high thy right hand.


All your lovers have forgotten you; they care nothing for you; for I have dealt you the blow of an enemy, the punishment of a merciless foe, because your guilt is great, because your sins are flagrant.


Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you.
