He went up from there to Bethel; and while he was going up on the way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, saying, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!”


I am repulsive to my wife, loathsome to the sons of my own mother.


All my intimate friends abhor me, and those whom I loved have turned against me.


“But now they make sport of me, men who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.


On my right hand the rabble rise, they drive me forth, they cast up against me their ways of destruction.


You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.


And the people will oppress one another, every man his fellow and every man his neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder, and the base fellow to the honorable.
