On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha and Abagtha, Zethar and Carkas, the seven eunuchs who served King Ahasu-erus as chamberlains,


But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king's command conveyed by the eunuchs. At this the king was enraged, and his anger burned within him.


Then Esther spoke to Hathach and gave him a message for Mordecai, saying,


When Esther's maids and her eunuchs came and told her, the queen was deeply distressed; she sent garments to clothe Mordecai, so that he might take off his sackcloth, but he would not accept them.


Hathach went out to Mordecai in the open square of the city in front of the king's gate,


And Hathach went and told Esther what Mordecai had said.


Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.


If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.


Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.


For we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
