So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.


The king answered, “I know with certainty that you are trying to gain time, because you see that the word from me is sure


“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.


And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables;


For while your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, I would have you wise as to what is good and guileless as to what is evil;


Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.


so that you may command the respect of outsiders, and be dependent on nobody.


moreover he must be well thought of by outsiders, or he may fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.


If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him.


Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good life let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.


But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity.


Likewise you wives, be submissive to your husbands, so that some, though they do not obey the word, may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives,
