After these things God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here am I.”


But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here am I.”


But the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?”


When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here am I.”


Thus says the Lord: “What wrong did your fathers find in me that they went far from me, and went after worthlessness, and became worthless?


“Therefore I still contend with you, says the Lord, and with your children's children I will contend.


Then he will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.’


And he said, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Let him be crucified.”


“As I made my journey and drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.


And I answered, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And he said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth whom you are persecuting.’


And he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”


though I formerly blasphemed and persecuted and insulted him; but I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,


And the Lord came and stood forth, calling as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for thy servant hears.”
