And this was a small thing in thy eyes, O God; thou hast also spoken of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast shown me future generations, O Lord God!


For thy servant's sake, O Lord, and according to thy own heart, thou hast wrought all this greatness, in making known all these great things.


O Lord, thou hast searched me and known me!

Therefore the Lord the God of Israel declares: ‘I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me for ever’; but now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
