When thy rebuke, O Jacob's God, had forth against them past, Their horses and their chariots both were in a dead sleep cast.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

The waters' channels then were seen, the world's foundations vast At thy rebuke discover'd were, and at thy nostrils' blast.

Burnt up it is with flaming fire, it also is cut down: They utterly are perished, when as thy face doth frown.
