In grief they cry to God; he saves them from their miseries.


Then they to God in trouble cry, who them from straits doth free.


In my distress to God I cry'd, and he gave ear to me.


Praise ye the Lord, who do him fear; him glorify all ye The seed of Jacob: fear him all that Isr'el's children be.


They look'd to him, and lighten'd were: not shamed were their faces.


The angel of the Lord encamps, and round encompasseth All those about that do him fear, and them delivereth.


O ye the sons of men! how long will ye love vanities? How long my glory turn to shame, and will ye follow lies?


Whoso doth offer praise me glorifies; and I Will shew him God's salvation, that orders right his way.


I in my trouble sought the Lord, my sore by night did run, And ceased not; my grieved soul did consolation shun.


I to remembrance God did call, yet trouble did remain; And overwhelm'd my spirit was, whilst I did sore complain.


Thou didst in trouble on me call, and I deliver'd thee: In secret place of thundering I did thee answer make; And at the streams of Meribah of thee a proof did take.


For thou art gracious, O Lord, and ready to forgive; And rich in mercy, all that call upon thee to relieve.


In troublous times I'll call on thee; for thou wilt answer send.
