Mine eyes do fail with looking long for thy salvation, The word of thy pure righteousness while I do wait upon.


Because my life with grief is spent, my years with sighs and groans: My strength doth fail; and for my sin consumed are my bones.


Like as the hart for water-brooks in thirst doth pant and bray; So pants my longing soul, O God, that come to thee I may.


Mine eye, consum'd with grief, grows old, Because of all mine enemies.


I weary with my crying am, my throat is also dry'd; Mine eyes do fail, while for my God I waiting do abide.


By reason of affliction mine eye mourns dolefully: To thee, Lord, do I call, and stretch my hands continually.
