In my distress I call'd on God, cry to my God did I; He from his temple heard my voice, to his ears came my cry.


For he despis'd not nor abhorr'd th' afflicted's misery; Nor from him hid his face, but heard when he to him did cry.


For from thine eyes cut off I am, I in my haste had said; My voice yet heard'st thou, when to thee with cries my moan I made.


Let them that love my righteous cause be glad, shout, and not cease To say, The Lord be magnify'd, who loves his servant's peace.


I'm poor and needy, yet the Lord of me a care doth take: Thou art my help and saviour, my God, no tarrying make.
