He said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if you prefer, I will give you another vineyard for it’; but he answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’ ”


Surely vexation kills the fool, and jealousy slays the simple.


The wicked see it and are angry; they gnash their teeth and melt away; the desire of the wicked comes to nothing.


May my heart be blameless in your statutes, so that I may not be put to shame.


A good wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.


A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.


A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones.


It will be a healing for your flesh and a refreshment for your body.
