So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought to him all the sick, those who were afflicted with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, and paralytics, and he cured them.


“Do not give what is holy to dogs; and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under foot and turn and maul you.


Now there on the hillside a great herd of swine was feeding;


So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the swine; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and were drowned in the sea.


And we do this so that we may not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.


Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.
