Grain is crushed for bread, but one does not thresh it forever; one drives the cart wheel and horses over it, but does not pulverize it.


For lo, I will command, and shake the house of Israel among all the nations as one shakes with a sieve, but no pebble shall fall to the ground.


Then he showed me the high priest Joshua standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.


When they had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.


Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! for it is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.’ ”


But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things;

Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.
