as if someone fled from a lion, and was met by a bear; or went into the house and rested a hand against the wall, and was bitten by a snake.


I saw the Lord standing beside the altar, and he said: Strike the capitals until the thresholds shake, and shatter them on the heads of all the people; and those who are left I will kill with the sword; not one of them shall flee away, not one of them shall escape.


So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone.


And it was told Joshua, “The five kings have been found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah.”


but do not stay there yourselves; pursue your enemies, and attack them from the rear. Do not let them enter their towns, for the Lord your God has given them into your hand.”


Then Joshua said, “Open the mouth of the cave, and bring those five kings out to me from the cave.”
