I will say to God, Do not condemn me; let me know why you contend against me.


Because they stretched out their hands against God, and bid defiance to the Almighty,


Before I was humbled I went astray, but now I keep your word.


It is good for me that I was humbled, so that I might learn your statutes.


Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of their many transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against you.


Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law,


For our transgressions before you are many, and our sins testify against us. Our transgressions indeed are with us, and we know our iniquities:


So Moses took the redemption money from those who were over and above those redeemed by the Levites;


But law came in, with the result that the trespass multiplied; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,


But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.


The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the foremost.
