Their children come to honor, and they do not know it; they are brought low, and it goes unnoticed.


Since their days are determined, and the number of their months is known to you, and you have appointed the bounds that they cannot pass,


Let their own eyes see their destruction, and let them drink of the wrath of the Almighty.


Will any teach God knowledge, seeing that he judges those that are on high?


“O my God,” I say, “do not take me away at the mid-point of my life, you whose years endure throughout all generations.”


But you, O God, will cast them down into the lowest pit; the bloodthirsty and treacherous shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in you.
