Bold as a lion you hunt me; you repeat your exploits against me.


Why do you hide your face, and count me as your enemy?


Will you frighten a windblown leaf and pursue dry chaff?


God gives me up to the ungodly, and casts me into the hands of the wicked.


If you say, ‘How we will persecute him!’ and, ‘The root of the matter is found in him’;


know then that God has put me in the wrong, and closed his net around me.


But stretch out your hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.”


You have turned cruel to me; with the might of your hand you persecute me.


if those of my tent ever said, ‘O that we might be sated with his flesh!’ —


For they persecute those whom you have struck down, and those whom you have wounded, they attack still more.


Add guilt to their guilt; may they have no acquittal from you.
