Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me!


You have made your people suffer hard things; you have given us wine to drink that made us reel.


for the Lord pleads their cause and despoils of life those who despoil them.


Stupefy yourselves and be in a stupor, blind yourselves and be blind! Be drunk, but not from wine; stagger, but not from strong drink!


My people—children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, your leaders mislead you, and confuse the course of your paths.


The Lord rises to argue his case; he stands to judge the peoples.


But thus says the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued; for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children.


Rouse yourself, rouse yourself! Stand up, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his wrath, who have drunk to the dregs the bowl of staggering.


The Lord has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: I will not again give your grain to be food for your enemies, and foreigners shall not drink the wine for which you have labored;
