Then Asa slept with his ancestors, and was buried with his ancestors in the city of his father David; his son Jehoshaphat succeeded him.


Jehoshaphat son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of King Ahab of Israel.


So he died according to the word of the Lord that Elijah had spoken. His brother, Jehoram succeeded him as king in the second year of King Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat of Judah, because Ahaziah had no son.


Now these are the chiefs of David's warriors, who gave him strong support in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.


When the rule of Rehoboam was established and he grew strong, he abandoned the law of the Lord, he and all Israel with him.
