In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on mortals, while they slumber on their beds,


Amid thoughts from visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on mortals,


and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wine after the guests have become drunk. But you have kept the good wine until now.”


Indeed, these are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only nine o'clock in the morning.


let us live honorably as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy.


Come to a sober and right mind, and sin no more; for some people have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.


for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Sleeper, awake! Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”


Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit,


suffering the penalty for doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their dissipation while they feast with you.
