And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Make them wash their clothes


The priest who pronounces them clean shall present both the one to be cleansed and their offerings before the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting.


They must purify themselves with the water on the third day and on the seventh day; then they will be clean. But if they do not purify themselves on the third and seventh days, they will not be clean.


The man who is clean is to sprinkle those who are unclean on the third and seventh days, and on the seventh day he is to purify them. Those who are being cleansed must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and that evening they will be clean.


‘I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites in place of the first male offspring of every Israelite woman. The Levites are mine,


‘After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a wave offering, they are to come to do their work at the tent of meeting.


Moses, Aaron and the whole Israelite community did with the Levites just as the Lord commanded Moses.


After that, the Levites came to do their work at the tent of meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did with the Levites just as the Lord commanded Moses.


To purify them, do this: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them; then make them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes. And so they will purify themselves.
