‘Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?’ asked Pilate,

But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

And he replied to them, Do you wish me to set free for you the King of the Jews?

And Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

Pilate answered them, “Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?”

But Pilate answered them and said, "Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?"

And Pilate answered them, and said: Will you that I release to you the king of the Jews?

knowing it was out of self-interest that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him.

The crowd came up and asked Pilate to do for them what he usually did.

But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release “the king of the Jews”?’
