These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. (Levi lived 137 years.)


Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. (Amram lived 137 years.)


To Kohath belonged the clans of the Amramites, Izharites, Hebronites and Uzzielites; these were the Kohathite clans.


So, as the Lord had commanded, the Israelites gave the Levites the following towns and pasture-lands out of their own inheritance:


The rest of Kohath’s descendants were allotted ten towns from the clans of the tribes of Ephraim, Dan and half of Manasseh.


And Eleazar son of Aaron died and was buried at Gibeah, which had been allotted to his son Phinehas in the hill country of Ephraim.
