And God called the expanse, Heavens. And the evening and the morning were the second day.


You, even You, are Jehovah alone. You have made the heavens, heaven of the heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things on it, the seas, and all in them, and You preserve them all. And the host of the heavens worships You.


He has described a circle on the surface of the waters to the boundary of light with darkness.


He stretches out the north over the empty place, and He hung the earth on nothing.


He lays the beams of His upper rooms in the waters. He sets the clouds as His chariots; He walks on the wings of the wind;


He gathered the waters of the sea like a heap, setting the depths in storehouses.


The sea is His, and He made it, and His hands formed the dry land.


All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; to the place from where the rivers come, there they return again.


Do you not fear Me? says Jehovah. Will you not tremble at My presence, I who have placed the sand for the boundary of the sea by a never-ending decree, so that it cannot pass it? And though they toss themselves, yet they cannot prevail; though its waves roar, yet they cannot pass over it?


And he said to them, I am a Hebrew; and I fear Jehovah, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.


For this is hidden from them by their willing it, that the heavens were of old, and the earth out of the water, and through water, being held together by the Word of God,


and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created the heaven and the things in it, and the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, that there should no longer be time.
