I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.


Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.


I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.


As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?


O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Her´monites, from the hill Mizar.


And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.


But all this was done, that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.


And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?


And they all forsook him, and fled.


Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.


Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
