and divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation.


And Moses and Ele-a´zar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the Lord.


But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makke´dah.


And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sis´era a prey of divers colors, a prey of divers colors of needlework, of divers colors of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?


For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.
