For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person; yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.


For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.


how much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?


(for we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow.)


My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
