And Le´ah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Is´sachar.


and he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.


And of the children of Is´sachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.


Though ye have lain among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.


He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:


And they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones:


And of Zeb´ulun he said, Rejoice, Zeb´ulun, in thy going out; and, Is´sachar, in thy tents.


And after Abim´elech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Pu´ah, the son of Dodo, a man of Is´sachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount E´phra-im.
