And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–ji´reh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.


And when he heard say of Tirha´kah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee; he sent messengers again unto Hezeki´ah, saying,


And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.


The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.


For the Lord shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.


And the earth helped the woman; and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.


And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.


Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Se´la–hammah´lekoth.


And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road today? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerah´meelites, and against the south of the Kenites.
