And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at first.


And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshiped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat torn, and earth upon his head:


So Hushai David’s friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.


And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.


And Ahithophel was the king’s counselor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion:


And their possessions and habitations were, Beth-el and its towns, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer, with its towns; Shechem also and its towns, unto Ayyah and its towns:


And the border went over from there toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Bethel, southward; and the border descended to Atarothadar, near the hill that lies on the south side of lower Bethhoron.
