And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael, all their days.
And it came to pass after this, that Ben-hadad king of Syria gathered all his army, and went up, and besieged Samaria.
Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasuries of the house of the LORD and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben-hadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
But if you will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-hadad.
And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed.
And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell securely in the coastlands: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour his palaces.
But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, which shall devour its palaces.
