The Spirit of God came on Zekharyah the son of Yehoiada the Kohen; and he stood above the people, and said to them, Thus says God, Why disobey you the mitzvot of the LORD, so that you can't prosper? because you have forsaken the LORD, he has also forsaken you.


By the breath of God they perish. By the blast of his anger are they consumed.


From there also shall you go forth, with your hands on your head: for the LORD has rejected those in whom you trust, and you shall not prosper with them.


and he shall bring Tzidkiyahu to Bavel, and there shall he be until I visit him, says the LORD: though you fight with the Kasdim, you shall not prosper?


Now the `Amaleki and the Kena`ani dwell in the valley: tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way to the Sea of Suf.


The LORD said to me, Tell them, Don't go up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest you be struck before your enemies.


Why then didn't you obey the voice of the LORD, but flew on the spoil, and did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD?*
