(for Shlomo had made a bronze scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and on it he stood, and kneeled down on his knees before all the assembly of Yisra'el, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;)


Of the sons of Bani: Meshullam, Mallukh, and `Adayah, Yashuv, and She'al, Ramot.


Of the sons of Chashum: Mattenai, Mattattah, Zavad, Elifelet, Yeremai, Menasheh, Shim`i.


and Ma`aseyah the son of Barukh, the son of Kolchozeh, the son of Chazayah, the son of `Adayah, the son of Yoiariv, the son of Zekharyah, the son of the Shiloni.


These are the sons of Binyamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Yo`ed, the son of Pedayahu, the son of Kolayah, the son of Ma`aseyah, the son of 'Iti'el, the son of Yesha`yah.

He read therein before the broad place that was before the water gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women, and of those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were [attentive] to the scroll of the Torah.


Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:


They stood up in their place, and read in the scroll of the Torah of the LORD their God a fourth part of the day; and [another] fourth part they confessed, and worshiped the LORD their God.


Then stood up on the stairs of the Levites, Yeshua, and Bani, Kadmi'el, Shevanyah, Bunni, Sherevyah, Bani, [and] Kenani, and cried with a loud voice to the LORD their God.


saying, *The scribes and the Perushim sat on Moshe' seat.
