'Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be a holy day for you, a Shabbat of solemn rest to the LORD: whoever does any work in it shall be put to death.
If you turn away your foot from the Shabbat, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Shabbat a delight, [and] the holy of the LORD honorable; and shall honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking [your own] words:
And behold there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, *Is it lawful to heal on the day of Shabbat?* that they might accuse him.
But he said to them, *Haven't you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;
The Perushim said to him, *Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the day of Shabbat?*
Yeshua, answering, spoke to the Torah scholars and Perushim, saying, *Is it lawful to heal on the Shabbat?*
They returned, and prepared spices and ointments. On the Shabbat they rested according to the mitzvah.
But some of the Perushim said to them, *Why do you do that which is not lawful to do on the day of Shabbat?*
